Telesitter
Responsibilities
Performs technical and patient care tasks and will provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. This position involves monitoring multiple patients simultaneously via video system. The first line of action will be to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in any at risk behaviors. Next will be to summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. In this role, the Telesitter staff will participate in rounding on assigned patients and set-up/troubleshoot equipment. The Telesitter staff will provide primarily Remote Telesitter monitoring, but may also provide 1:1 Constant Observation on patient care units when necessary.
The Telesitter staff will be knowledgeable and abide by patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience required. High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Previous clinical experience required. Previous direct patient care experience preferred, or CNA or completion of first clinical course in RN/LPN program
- Basic computer operation skills Basic Microsoft windows experience
- Required Certification/Registration: Completion of Organization’s Crisis Training BLS certification current and ongoing.
- Other Requirements: Capable of continuous monitoring of up to 16 patients at one time and remains alert at all times while on dutyAbility to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headsetAbility to communicate with both orally and in writing and respond quickly to patient behavioral changesAbility to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staffEfficiency in multitaskingAbility to prioritize simultaneous situations

Pay
The compensation range for the role is $25.79 - $26.57 hourly.
