About the role
This position is responsible for taking non-emergency calls via phone or in person for law enforcement assistance. Incumbents review requests, complete incident reports, and maintain daily records and files.
Responsibilities
- Receives non-emergency calls via the phone or in person for law enforcement assistance
- Compiles necessary information and completes incident report on all requests in compliance with Georgia law
- Assesses non-emergency calls, determines necessary action, and dispatches requests as necessary
- Maintains daily records and files of all service requests for tracking purposes
- Communicates with other departments as needed to request or provide information
- Testifies in Court
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year experience in a law enforcement environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Must obtain Basic Terminal Operator of GCIC/NCIC certification within one year
This job is a safety-sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. It also requires fingerprinting. Due to the sensitive nature of this civilian role in a public safety department, a public safety background check is required, which may include motor vehicle and criminal histories.

The value of Gwinnett County benefits can be up to 49 percent of an individual’s total compensation.
Pay
Grade B21(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
