About the role
The qualified applicant will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) with modeling, constructive simulation, prototyping, data analytics and visualizations, visual storytelling, and human-in-the-loop analytic efforts. As a subject matter expert, you will focus on space and ground data networks, satellite control, and telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) architectures and their requirements. You will serve as a liaison between SWAC’s Spectrum Warfare Program (SWP) and Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) to ensure accurate representation of SWP architectures in analysis and events. Additionally, you will collaborate with SWAC, program offices, IC partners, and the USSF to gather and model capability requirements for analytic efforts.
Responsibilities
- Support and facilitate SWAC Force Design analytic efforts, testing and improving software for cognitive assessment and constructive analysis
- Evaluate, modify, and test models in SPySE and other software tools
- Collaborate with fellow industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver well-informed models
- Improve user interfaces for operators and communicate TT&C and satellite control requirements to inform satellite tasking
- Create written and presentation products from analytic efforts
- Build products using Microsoft Office
Requirements
- Minimum 9 years of experience (with a BS degree; education may substitute for a degree)
- 5+ years of experience in space and ground data networks, satellite control, and TT&C
- Bachelor’s degree in a space-relevant engineering or science field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Communications, Physics); advanced degree preferred
- Background in orbital mechanics and space control
- Experience using modeling and simulation to analyze and inform force design metrics
- Familiarity with native cloud solutions such as Azure
- Ability to self-identify and execute work tasks
- Analytic problem-solving skills applicable to operational and strategic-level problems
- Ability to translate technical information for leadership and establish partnering relationships across external organizations
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and polygraph (must meet all requirements for SCI and SAP access)
- 10% travel required
Pay
Target salary range: $160,000 – $200,000. The estimate represents the typical salary range based on experience and other factors.
