Telemetry, Tracking & Satellite Control SME
Location: Colorado Springs, CO | Full-time, on-site role with up to 10% travel.
About the role
The qualified applicant will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) with various lines of effort including modeling, constructive simulation, prototyping, data analytics and visualizations, visual storytelling, and human-in-the-loop analytic efforts. Specifically, the applicant will serve as a subject matter expert on space and ground data networks, satellite control, and telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) architectures and the associated requirements of satellite architectures. The applicant will act as a liaison between SWAC’s Spectrum Warfare Program (SWP) and Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) to ensure SWP architectures and models are accurately represented in SWAC and SSDP analysis and human-in-the-loop analytic events. The applicant will collaborate with SWAC, program offices, IC partners, and the rest of the USSF to gather information to model and represent capabilities required for analytic efforts.
Responsibilities
- Support and facilitate SWAC Force Design analytic efforts, testing and improving software for cognitive assessment and constructive analysis.
- Evaluate, modify, and test models in SPySE and other software tools.
- Collaborate with fellow industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver the best-informed models.
- Improve user interfaces for operators, and communicate TT&C and satellite control requirements to inform satellite tasking.
- Take results from analytic efforts and create written and presentation products.
- Build products using Microsoft Office.
Requirements
- Minimum 9 years of overall experience (with a BS degree; education may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- 5+ years of experience in space and ground data networks, satellite control, and TT&C.
- Experience in orbital mechanics and space control.
- Ability to use modeling and simulation to analyze and inform force design metrics.
- Familiarity with native cloud solutions such as Azure.
- Ability to self-identify and execute work tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytic problem-solving skills to operational and strategic-level problems, accurately translate technical information for leadership, and establish partnering relationships across external organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, advanced degree preferred, in a space-relevant engineering or science field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Communications, Physics, etc.).
- Must maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph and be able to obtain Special Access Program/Required (SAP/SAR) clearance level.
Pay
$160,001 – $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
