Telemetry Technician - Full-time Days

About the role

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients. Telemetry Technicians play a crucial role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Continuous monitoring and responding to alarms on EKG monitors.
• Verifying correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifacts.
• Maintaining EKG monitor alarms and responding to all alarms as needed.
• Observing and responding to alarms on all assigned monitors promptly and appropriately.
• Completing EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, wave form alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ensuring strip interpretations are validated by Registered Nurses (RNs).

Requirements

• Must complete and pass an EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on an education platform within 30 days of starting the position.
• Pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.

Pay

• $20.90-26.50 per hour, based on years of experience.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shift (6:30am - 6:30pm).
• Rotating weekends and holidays.
