Telemetry Monitoring Tech

Responsibilities

• Obtains and interprets baseline rhythm strip on each monitored patient.
• Makes accurate measurements and documentation of PR and QRS intervals on new and existing patients electronically.
• Communicates identified arrhythmias to registered nurses and activates the emergency notification system for life-threatening rhythms.
• Ensures a safe, clean, and orderly environment by contributing to efficient departmental operations.
• Notifies clinical engineering department, nurse manager, or designee of any equipment malfunctions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills in interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Basic reading, writing, and math abilities.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include previous nursing assistant, monitor technician, emergency medical technician, or patient care technician experience.
