About the role

As a Monitor Technician you will deliver high quality, patient-centered care to cardiac patients monitoring for age related arrhythmias and reporting results to the nursing staff. Responsibilities

  • Provide competent, continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation, safe and effective use of equipment
  • Be a positive team participant on patient care units, have courteous interactions with visitors, patients, and medical staff and support unit and hospital philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
  • Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures
  • Perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages

Qualifications

  • Six months or more of telemetry monitoring experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools: Telemetry monitoring system management, strong cardiac rhythm recognition, interpretation skills & communication skills strongly desired
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
