Telecommunications Technician

About the role

The Role at Lumen is dedicated to providing high-speed internet and network services to businesses and consumers. We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Implement and configure network security protocols and firewalls.
• Perform routine maintenance on network equipment and perform repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a similar role within a telecommunications company.
• Proficient in network administration, including Cisco and Juniper products.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• CCNA certification preferred.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of VoIP systems and telephony solutions.

Skills

• Technical proficiency in network management tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or Check Point.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
