About the role
Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Controller to join our Strategic Project Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will support a large electric utility client in the Pacific Northwestern US. This is an in-office position based out of either Portland, Bend or Medford, OR, depending on the location of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities
- Developing, monitoring and maintaining engineering and construction project budgets for various sized projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
- Working with Project Management teams using earned value management techniques to ensure that forecasts and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
- Closely partnering with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, Managers, and other client stakeholders to track and execute client deliverables
- Supporting project teams with material tracking
- Producing schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review, which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis
- Interfacing directly with the client on a daily basis to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electric utility projects
- Aiding project managers with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking
- Reviewing, interpreting, and providing inputs to project schedules and identifying risks
Requirements
- Mid-Level: 4-7 years of relevant project controls experience
- Senior-Level: 7-10 years of relevant project controls experience
- (Pay ranges will be commensurate with candidate experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
- Demonstrated experience managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets and cost controls
- Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
- Experience working with US electric utilities
- Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business
