TELECOMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement, assignment, and protection of radio frequencies.
• Prepare the engineering data for frequency, telecommunication and other Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (CSISR) matters.
• Analyze technical data of communication systems based upon knowledge of radio equipment and radio propagation.
• Initiate direct actions at the National or International level to eliminate conflicts in frequency assignments which arise because of the heavily congested radio frequency spectrum.
• Perform supervisory functions for one GS-12 employee, and two military personnel.
• Serve as senior Telecommunications Specialist for analyzing technical data of communication systems based upon knowledge of radio equipment and radio propagation.
• Serve as the technical authority responsible for communicating the frequency assignment process to all levels of command, orally and in writing.
• Serve as a senior Telecommunications Project Manager, and exercise centralized accountability and oversight of all project resources.
• Participate in meetings and briefings to investigate problems, coordinate projects, and keep abreast of changes in operations, requirements, or technological advances.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• May be required to bend, stoop, and crouch to inspect and assess equipment and supporting facilities.
• May be exposed to dirty, dusty, noisy, and inclement weather when conducting field visits.
• This is a Mission Essential position.

Qualifications

• Your Resume Must Demonstrate At Least One Year Of Specialized Experience At Or Equivalent To The GS-12 Grade Level Or Pay Band In The Federal Service Or Equivalent Experience In The Private Or Public Sector.
• Specialized Experience Must Demonstrate The Following Experience completing Interservice Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) or the Army equivalent Electromagnetic Spectrum Managers Course.
• Experience performing as an expertise in Radio Frequency Management at Agency, National and Internation level.
• Experience demonstrating a strong background in international treaties, National agreements and arrangements pertaining to frequency protection and spectrum efficiency.
• In Addition, There Are Individual Occupational Requirements Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.

Pay

GS-13 - $111,119 - $144,457
