Telecom Tech/Engineer Lead
Location: Upper East Side, New York, NY – fully onsite, 5 days per week.
About the role
Our healthcare client is seeking a hands-on Telecom Tech/Engineer Lead within their Unified Communications Telecommunications Group. This individual will report directly to the Director of Telecommunications and support a large end-user environment of approximately 10,000 mobile devices and the UC enterprise network. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in Cisco UC engineering and managerial experience, including vendor management and expense oversight in an enterprise setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large team responsible for all phone services and mobile devices across the entire hospital system.
- Oversee telecommunications operations, including UC, carrier, MDM, and TEM/WEM systems.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure high-quality customer service.
- Handle Telecommunication Expense Management (TEM) and Wireless Expense Management (WEM), including carrier billing, invoicing, circuit provisioning, configurations, pricing, and contracts.
- Support and maintain PBX and UC systems, with broad knowledge of platforms like NEC and Cisco VOIP.
- Utilize support systems such as ServiceNow for incident and request management.
- Collaborate with telcos, wireless providers, and cabling vendors to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in telecommunications/UC, supporting telecom or IT-related functions, with a broad knowledge of telecom/IT products, services, and technology.
- Proven experience managing a team in a telecommunications, carrier, MDM, or UC environment.
- Deep expertise in all aspects of UC and telecommunications operations.
- 5 to 8 years of Telecom Management experience in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Telecommunication Expense Management (TEM) and Wireless Expense Management (WEM), including carrier billing systems, invoicing, technical communication, circuit provisioning, and contract management.
- Experience with PBX systems (e.g., NEC, Cisco VOIP) and UC platforms.
- Strong customer service skills and experience managing vendors in the telecom/UC space.
- Experience working with large enterprise environments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this contract-to-hire position is $55.00 - $60.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may include:
