Tele Sitter Monitor (Per Diem, Days)

Position Summary

This position will provide continuous observation via video and two-way audio, provide psychological supportive services, and surveillance of assigned patients. The first line of action will be to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in any at risk behaviors. Next will be to alert the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. Staff will be knowledgeable and abide by patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies.

Minimum: EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

• Six months direct patient care experience

Minimum: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

• Current CPR certification

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Demonstrate communication skills and sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family including those with psychological needs
• Remain alert at all times while on duty
• Communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset
• Communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes
• Use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff
• Basic computer operation skills
• Basic Microsoft windows experience
• Efficiency in multitasking
• Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Fulfill the essential functions of the position
