Telco Support Analyst

About the role

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) designated Communications Division (CD) is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and reasonable rates for services provided by telephone corporations across California. The Telco Licensing and Registration Oversight (TLRO) program oversees all licensing, registration, and compliance activities for telephone corporations.

Responsibilities

• Perform work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical staff services assignments in support of TLRO Program and COPB.
• Support the Program and Project Supervisor in various tasks related to the Telco Licensing and Registration Oversight Program.
• Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Handle multiple assignments with accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with different stakeholders, both orally and in writing.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience performing research and analysis.
• Experience handling multiple assignments with accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Experience in both oral and written communications to different stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must have:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of Public Utilities Code and CPUC Rules.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $3,861.00 - $6,276.00 per month, effective July 1, 2025. The salary range includes a temporary reduction due to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025.

Schedule

This position is full-time and works a hybrid schedule.
