What You'll Do

  • Lead Teens Make Health Happen wellness clubs in 2-3 middle and/or high schools (3-4 hrs/week onsite)
  • Mentor middle and high school students on wellness, leadership, and community projects
  • Sponsor student-led activities (e.g., step challenges, lunchtime demos, school improvement events)
  • Build relationships with school staff and teen wellness leaders
  • Track your impact through assessments and program documentation
  • Host monthly Café O'Yea wellness demonstrations
  • Share program highlights on social media
  • Represent HealthCorps at school and community events

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in a related field (public health, education, social sciences, etc.)
  • Take and pass background checks (criminal, child abuse, FBI fingerprinting, etc)
  • In good academic standing
  • Able to commit 6-8+ hours/week for the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Comfortable working with teens and presenting wellness topics
  • Able to lift up to 15 lbs
