Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a 3rd to 5th year associate in the Technology Transactions & Licensing Practice of our San Diego, Los Angeles, or Portland office.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on commercial and licensing agreements, intellectual property matters, and product counseling, particularly in the context of cloud computing products and services, software, patents, IT procurement, supply chain, semiconductor, and AI/machine learning.
• Manage multiple client demands in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law, particularly as it relates to software, hardware, and digital assets.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and open source license frameworks.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical background (e.g., CS, EE, bioengineering) or experience working with clients in cloud computing, semiconductor, hardware, AI, and cybersecurity sectors.
• Experience with international licensing and cross-border transactions.
• Exposure to IP workflows in M&A or financing transactions and post-closing integration.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $235,000 to $365,000 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
