About the role
We are seeking a Technology Services Designer to join our dynamic team in Chapel Hill. This position involves converting system design concepts into specific layouts, using information from various sources like basis of design, user feedback, field surveys, and code research.
Responsibilities
- Design Information Communications Technology (ICT) systems in healthcare, higher education, and scientific environments.
- Lead the ICT design for projects in these sectors.
- Use Revit and AutoCAD for design.
- Understand building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
- Work with Building Technology Systems and/or Electrical infrastructure design.
- Develop Revit MEP family and perform BIM modeling and Navisworks coordination.
- Comply with TIA, BICSI, and NEC standards.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing ICT systems in a Built Environment, Building Technology, or Electrical consultant firm.
- Experience with structured cabling, voice/data systems, emergency communications, audio-visual systems, mission critical/data center connectivity, and clinical communication systems.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
- Experience with Building Technology Systems and/or Electrical infrastructure design.
- Experience with Revit MEP family development.
- Experience with BIM modeling and Navisworks coordination resolution.
- Understanding of TIA, BICSI, and NEC standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and focus on client, project, and team outcomes.
