Location: Plano, TX, US (75024) – on-site; no remote work option.
Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native applications on AWS
- Develop event-driven microservices using messaging platforms (SQS, SNS, Kafka, EventBridge)
- Design and consume RESTful APIs
- Implement container-based solutions with Docker
- Apply software engineering best practices: testing, code reviews, CI/CD
- Work in Agile/iterative delivery environments
- Debug, troubleshoot, and define detailed technical designs
- Follow security best practices (IAM, encryption, secrets management)
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented design
- 8+ years of experience designing and building cloud-native applications on AWS
- 8+ years of experience with microservices or distributed service-oriented systems
- Practical experience with AWS services and architecture
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms (SQS, SNS, Kafka, EventBridge)
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD)
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions and detailed designs
- Familiarity with security best practices, IAM, encryption, and secrets management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
