Technology Director Lifecycle Management
About the role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead Lifecycle Management, managing end-to-end lifecycle mitigation of infrastructure and platforms including storage, compute, and virtualization transitions. This role has direct accountability for end-of-life (EOL) mitigation, workload repositioning, and capacity optimization. The Technology Director will define and execute the enterprise strategy to eliminate unsupported technologies across the environment, leading large-scale, multi-year remediation initiatives that reduce operational and cyber risk, strengthen platform resilience, and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
The role leads a team of Senior and Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, and third-party subject matter experts to exit EOL and vendor end-of-support (VEoS) infrastructure platforms from Heritage and NextGen data centers. The team will identify, plan, and execute evacuations spanning OS, ESX, VXRail, and Storage to mitigate EOL/VEoS exposure. Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills are required for interactions across the organization, including Executives, Engineers, Application Managers, and CIO leads in CIO Sector teams, Application Development, Cyber Security, and Compute Engineering and Operations. Horizontal alignment and coordination across CIO Organizations/Lines of Business, Cyber Security, Compute, Network, Storage, and Third Parties is essential.
The selected candidate will have deep vertical expertise in Compute, Cyber, and Network, as well as experience with public cloud technologies. The team will collaborate with horizontal functions to assess the legacy application portfolio and define exit plans, ensuring precision execution with no unplanned business interruption.
