Technology Assistant

About the Role

This position serves as the assistant to the Director of Technology for the school district. The technology assistant will help with the deployment, implementation, and maintenance of district and building-level technology, focusing on computer hardware and software. The role also involves working with telephone networks, copy and printing services, audio-visual support, and other technology across multiple sites in the district.

The position will serve each site in the district as needs arise, including ROCORI High School/Middle School, District Education Facility, Cold Spring Elementary, Richmond, and Rockville.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and replace hardware components within PCs and Macs.
• Perform basic troubleshooting procedures on projectors, Smartboards, scanners, wireless systems, and printing devices.
• Assist with the deployment, implementation, and maintenance of district and building-level technology.
• Support telephone networks, copy and printing services, and audio-visual equipment.
• Apply basic networking skills, including creating patch cables and troubleshooting network issues at the desktop or laptop level.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma required.
• Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines.
• Ability to perform both general and specialized tasks with limited supervision.

Skills

• Proficiency with Windows, MacOS, Microsoft Office, Smart Notebook, and Skyward SIS.
• Understanding of portable devices such as iPads and smartphones.
• Basic networking skills.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.45 to $25.13, depending on education and experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 12-month position.
