Job Summary
The Educational Technology Specialist supports the PA Program within the College of Health Sciences by serving as the primary technical resource and superuser for ExamSoft, Elentra, Slate, and related educational systems. Responsibilities include training, troubleshooting, and optimizing these platforms for faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, the role involves acting as the program's social media liaison, managing content creation, branding alignment, and messaging across digital platforms.
Essential Job Duties
- Supports the smooth operation of ExamSoft, Elentra, Slate, and related educational systems.
- Provides training, troubleshooting, and optimization to faculty, staff, and students.
- Acts as the program's social media liaison, overseeing content creation, branding alignment, and messaging across digital platforms.
- Provides general administrative support to ensure efficient program operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Independent systems administration, analytics, reporting, and process improvement.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, databases, presentation technologies.
- Social media platforms and content creation norms.
Skills
- Organizational skills to prioritize workload to meet long and short-term deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in document formatting and data management tasks (e.g., mail merge); strong general digital literacy (typing ~55 wpm).
- Experience using a scanner, calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and telephone operation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education Technology, Computer Science, Software or Network Engineering, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of educational technology systems administration and/or Learning Management System (LMS) support experience; or experience in a work-related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work experience in health professions education, higher education setting, or simulation-based learning environments.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational software.
- Experience with data analytics, dashboard development, or educational reporting systems.
