Security clearance: NATO SECRET / National SECRET – on-site in Norfolk, VA, USA. English proficiency at STANAG 6001 level required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to identification of new and cataloguing of existing Emerging & Disruptive Technologies (EDTs).
  • Provide deliverables to support the further development and production of the Technology Advantage (TA) critical enabler.
  • Analyze how TA can support identified Warfighting Development Innovation (WDI) Lines of Development.
  • Update current TA Vision documents to describe a common understanding of TA.
  • Prepare an initial draft Action Plan for the development of TA.
  • Support the definition of Initial Operating Capability (IOC) and Final Operating Capability (FOC).
  • Support the creation of a TA community of interest, leading to further engagement with internal NATO and external stakeholders.
  • Support the TA Project Manager and Sponsor by providing information and reports on TA Action Plan activities and integration with other projects and experimentation activities.
  • Interact directly with external stakeholders within the scope of this contract.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized/certified university in computer science, information and communication technology, or a closely related scientific or engineering discipline, plus 4 years of post-related experience. Candidates without a degree may substitute 6 years of extensive, progressive experience in duties related to the post.
  • Two years’ experience in the acquisition, assembly, and interpretation of research & technology information.
  • Knowledge of S&T information sources in nations (e.g., defense research laboratories, academic institutions, media, defense ministries).
  • Experience interpreting future S&T and EDT-related information to assess military applications and adoption for current and future operational challenges.
  • Practical experience with PC office automation products and internet-based information research.
  • Ability to conduct analytical work on EDT documentation, identify adoption pathways, and develop practical examples of emerging technologies for current and future conflicts.
  • Active NATO Secret Security Clearance or national equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English as defined in STANAG 6001 (Standardized Linguistic Profile 3333 – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) or equivalent.
