Responsibilities

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist.
• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Obtains patient’s pertinent history.
• Maintains crash cart.
• Maintains and stocks inventory.
• Maintains OSHA regulations.
• Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective.
• Works as a team player, accepts constructive criticism from supervisor, and follows work rules.
• Reports to lead technologist for work assignments.
• Assists with film quality control.
• Required to work evenings and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department.
• Assists and relieves manager expediting patient workflow through the department.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be AART registered or eligible and also IDNS licensed.
• CPR certification.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience highly preferred but not required.

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $29.00 - $43.00, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

Schedule

Hours: Varied; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday's shifts vary from 8:00am-5:00pm. Rotating weekend coverage every 5th weekend Saturday and Sunday 8:00am-4:00pm. Holidays and travel as needed.
