Technologist Specialist - Toxicology
Overview
Join us on our Toxicology team at Barnes Jewish Hospital to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
- Affords technical and or instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluates possible solutions and chooses an appropriate course of action to solve the problem.
- Operates all equipment/instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
- Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
- Collaborates with other specialists, coordinators and supervisors to schedule and assess competence of staff.
- Teaches and/or trains new and established staff members and students in routine and specialized techniques used.
- Participates in competency assessment of staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Physical/Life Science/related Experience: 2-5 years
- Supervisor Experience: No Experience
- Licenses & Certifications: MT/MLS/HT/HT-ASCP or equiv
