Job Responsibilities
- Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician.
- Selects and computes settings for each patient’s procedure/treatment.
- Develops and implements an appropriate procedure/treatment plan based on hospital protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to maintain patient care standards.
- Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum Required: Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
- PREFERRED/DESIRABLE: Associates degree in related field.
Special Skills
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles/theory.
- Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
- Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
Licensure
- Minimum Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R).
- BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required; State license as required.
- PREFERRED/DESIRABLE: Registration in two or more specialties.
