About the role
QRT Members are responsible for fixing non-conformities in all areas, including finishing and testing the fire truck before final shipment, and completing complex troubleshooting, and facilitating customer and engineering changes.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and solve complex manufacturing problems
- Install missing components or replace defective components as needed
- Eliminate any potential defects, based on write-ups and self-inspection
- Perform advanced electrical, plumbing, or mechanical troubleshooting
- Assess and perform mechanical and electrical repairs
- Assist with major reworks and projects
- Document and report defects to Quality Lead resolution of electrical defects and reworks
- Interact with engineering on current manufacturing issues
- Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate
- Maintain documentation for shop floor applications
- Perform function tests
- Lead quality, cost, and productivity improvement efforts
- Support manufacturing and OEM service
- Perform rework, as needed
- Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
- Complete final torque verification, fluid top-off, weatherproofing, etc.
- Maneuver fire trucks around the facility
- Self-check work and inspect prior processes
- Meet production goals
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Initiate process improvements when able
- Work in close proximity to customer, as needed
- Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
- Assist other team members and departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
- Ability to retain and apply instructions

- Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Must be detailed orientated
- Ability to read and understand truck specification documents
