Position Summary

The Sanitization Technician I reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for performing all sanitation operations, and conducting food safety, and quality procedures of the plant to ensure a safe, efficient, productive, and positive work environment. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations, and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA) and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks (Master Cleaning Schedule)
  • Follow all sanitation safety and food safety guidelines
  • Support Production CIPs
  • Complete all associated documents related to task per facility document requirements
  • Work with chemicals to complete cleaning
  • Operate PIT equipment
  • Operate Cleaning equipment
  • This role will be required to taste test products as needed, up to a couple of ounces per test.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum Required Qualifications: Must successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to Read and Write Work in a safe manner following all PPE requirements.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility.
  • Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
  • Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.

PAY AND SCHEDULE

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.64/hr. 3rd shift is eligible for a $0.45/hr shift differential.
