Technician - Rental Field

Position Summary

This position will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and or maintenance of all rental equipment primarily at customer job sites and occasionally in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites.
• Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards.
• Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
• Fully understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
• Complete all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
• Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years or more of work‑related experience in a technician‑related position.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred:

• Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
• Valid Class B CDL.
• 7 years or more of work‑related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar, and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, etc.
• Must have required shop hand tools.
