Technician - Rental Field

About the role

This position performs efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and maintenance of all rental equipment, primarily at customer job sites and occasionally in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites.
• Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards.
• Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
• Completely understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment.
• Complete all documents associated with repairs accurately and timely.
• Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years or more of work-related experience in a technician-related position.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Required shop hand tools.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
• Valid Class B CDL.
• 7 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems.
