Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC
About the role
Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. This role supports and oversees repair within Walmart facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders supporting stores and store associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds, moving up and down ladders, and working at heights frequently.
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance or a vocational/technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance/construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field (alternative to certification).
- Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, such as based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
