Technician - Radiology Aid

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for imaging procedures
• Obtains patient medical history information
• Prepares procedure room, equipment and supplies for imaging procedures
• Communicates wait time information to patients
• Aids technologists with departmental communication tasks
• Limited patient, contrast, and equipment transport as needed

Essential Functions

• Completes clerical and technical support duties to assist clinical staff with imaging procedures and ancillary tasks
• Verifies patient location using hospital computer databases
• Maintains and stores procedure supplies, linen stock, and medical gas supply
• Notifies appropriate personnel of malfunctioning equipment and supply shortages
• Escorts ambulatory patients from waiting areas
• Transports contrast materials and equipment to and from Radiology as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational/Specialized training preferred
• Experience in healthcare-related field to 12 months
