About the Role
In this role, you will act with minimum supervision to ensure that the molding processes are operating at maximum output while maintaining the highest quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare molds/molding machines for production operation, including set-up, clean-up, start-up, and review parts for defects.
- Perform or assist with molding press line clearance.
- Complete process monitoring paperwork as required.
- Perform and/or assist with mold changes on all types of molding presses.
- Install, remove, deliver, retrieve, and transport molds and associated machinery, ensuring materials and equipment are in place for safe and efficient work.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve, relieve operators, apply solutions, and ensure processes run within predetermined control parameters, including making adjustments within allowable limits.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to complete daily tasks.
- Work with engineering to optimize tasks such as mold cleaning intervals, changeovers, production times, and scrap reduction projects.
- Initiate and write Tooling Repair Requests for pins, bushings, molds, or mold cavities needing repair.
- Assist Engineering and Maintenance as requested.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree or working toward a degree in a technical discipline.
- 5 years of related experience and/or training, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industry.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency with various computer software programs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required.
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods.
- Ability to move between offices and building sites.
- Must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues.
- Hearing ability sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a fast-paced team environment.
