About the role
The Pipeline Technician position at Enterprise Products Partners L.P. involves maintaining and operating NGL oil pipelines, pump stations, and associated equipment. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical equipment, as well as performing custody transfer measurements and product quality control tests.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on pumps, electric motors, gas driven turbine engines, and other mechanical equipment.
- Assist with the replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and parts.
- Respond to operational emergencies as part of an emergency response team.
- Perform regulatory required inspections and monitor NGL oil receipt and delivery activities.
- Locate pipelines, oversee excavations, and manage line crossings.
- Launch and receive cleaning and smart pigs, and install pipeline markers.
- Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment and interface with landowners.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- A minimum of 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation experience, preferably with 2 years in hazardous liquid or gas pipeline operations.
- Knowledge of the general design and operation of liquid or gas pipelines.
- Experience with troubleshooting equipment and familiarity with NGL or liquid pipelines.
- Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI systems, and SCADA.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in various environments and conditions.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A Vo-Tech certificate or associate degree in electrical/Electronics, Oil & Gas technical field, or related work experience.
- Experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or construction of hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facilities.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
- Physical abilities to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment, climb, and work at various heights.
- Ability to work in temperature extremes and confined spaces.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and emergency breathing apparatus.
