About the role

As a pharmacy technician you will be responsible for many aspects of the mail order prescription process. You may be assigned to work all areas of the dispensing pharmacy including product selection, packing and shipping.

• Manual filling and packing
• Fill medications for automated machines
• Quality Sampling of medications from automated machine
• Packing orders using automated packing machinery
• Support shipping handler functions such as manually metering packages and placement of packages to be sorted for shipment

As a Pharmacy Technician, you must possess basic computer proficiency and be able to lift up to 40 pounds. This position requires standing throughout the entire shift. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction across all levels of staff. Success in this role also depends on demonstrating a high degree of reliability, professionalism, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties across multiple functional areas
• Read and comprehend English
• Perform basic math (including dosage and days’ supply calculations)
• Stand for extended periods
• Reach, twist, bend, stoop, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs
• Maintain detail focus and task orientation
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance
• Work mandatory overtime/extended work week when needed
• Adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and workflow changes

Requirements

• Obtain an Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
• Complete IL Certification Requirements within 2 years from the date your license was issued, which includes:
  • Passing the CPhT exam
  • Backend Technician Training Program
• Responsibility of maintaining licensure and compliance training
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Pharmacy Technician training or Pharmacy Tech experience
• Experience working in a Mail Order Pharmacy
• Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 3pm to 1:30am and Sunday 2pm to 12:30am.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40

Time type: Full time

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $31.30 per hour. This pay range represents the base hourly rate for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
