About the role
Willis Knighton is seeking an Ophthalmology Tech to join their team at the South campus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide care to patients in the physician's office under the direction and supervision of the clinic physician
- Participate in patient and family teaching
- Work cooperatively with other health care members
- Maintain standards for professional growth and development
- Responsible for the operation of all equipment
- Perform accurate vision screenings
- Test the patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
- Test patients' field of vision, including central and peripheral vision for defects
- Examine eye using slit lamp, for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers
- Provide information to the patient/family regarding their disease process, diagnostic procedures, and/or surgery
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited high school
- Working toward an ophthalmology technician certification
- Previous ophthalmology experience or some experience in a related field preferred
