Technician NDE II (2nd Shift)

Essential Duties

  • Conduct appropriate NDE tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDE methods of inspection.
  • Establish and follow techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
  • Interpret test results and visual indicators.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Set up and calibrate NDE equipment.
  • Perform specialized inspections.
  • Perform other job-related tasks.

Education And Required Experience

  • A High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Technical school or NDE courses taken are a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility using applicable NDE applications and methods.
  • Knowledge of ASTM NDE and ISO standards.
  • Proven written communication skills.
  • Ability to properly perform calibrations.
  • Analytical skills with good judgment to interpret and evaluate results.

Certifications

  • Technical certifications in ASNT NDT Level III.
  • Liquid Penetrant “PT”.
  • Magnetic Particle Testing “MT”.
  • Eddy Current “ET” or Ultrasonic “UT” (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, and Ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, and risk of shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
