About the Role
A Certified Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assist practitioners and management in daily office operations. This is a technical position with no supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Chaperone in the exam room with the provider
- Prep and assist in the exam room
- Triage patients
- Collect urine and draw blood samples
- Take and record height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse of patients
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- A minimum of one-year medical assistant experience or internship in a physician practice
- National Medical Assistant Certification
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a busy healthcare environment
- Strong phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, or Russian
Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday with alternative Saturdays. The schedule varies from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Must be flexible with overtime as needed. Travel will be required to cover for other practice locations within Brooklyn.
Pay
Salary range: $32.55 - $39.06 per hour.
