Technician Mechanical II

About the role
Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. As a Mechanical Technician, you will support our engineering laboratories to maintain our role as a global leader in compression solutions.
Responsibilities
- Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to conduct developmental testing of compressors.
- Set up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposes.
- Operate laboratory test equipment including CO₂ stands, calorimeters, durability life test stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristics.
- Fabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests or builds.
- Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
- Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab.
- Complete required tests and communicate test results with engineers.
- Provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab.
Requirements
- Associate's degree plus two to three (2–3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship will not be provided for this role).
Schedule
This position is on 1st shift, consisting of five eight-hour work days, and is eligible for voluntary overtime. This role is fully onsite and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
