Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support for site process analyzers.
- Ensure analyzer installations and applications meet site specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot analyzer issues and implement improvements to optimize On-Stream Reliability (OSR).
- Support commissioning and start-up of new analyzers.
- Participate in capital project planning, design, and implementation.
- Contribute to long-term analyzer reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Execute the site analyzer PM program and maintain compliance with: ISO 9000, CEMS, CGAs, HRVOC, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Review Certificates of Analysis to ensure accuracy and validity of calibration standards.
- Support Analyzer Management of Change (MOC) as a technical representative.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and site policies.
- Review job packages, understand scope, and develop pre-task plans aligned with Conduct of Maintenance and Celanese Standard Maintenance Procedures.
- Obtain work permits and coordinate effectively with operations and other stakeholders.
- Execute predictive maintenance, calibrations, modifications, and repairs safely and efficiently.
- Identify required materials, instrumentation, and components for task execution.
- Cover analyzer maintenance needs for unit outages with Analyzer Specialists and Team Captain.
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring analyzer issues (“bad actors”) to improve reliability and reduce failures.
- Interpret predictive maintenance and PI data trends to identify emerging issues and mitigate risk.
- Provide feedback on work plans to Maintenance Planning.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree in Instrumentation Technology with certificate in Analytical Instrumentation preferred or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a chemical, refinery, or related industrial environment.
- Experience as an Analyzer Technician or Trainee preferred.
Key Abilities
- Experience with CEMS, IR, GC, TC, BTU, and Process O₂ analyzers.
- Working knowledge of SIS and control systems.
- Experience with SAP for parts and maintenance management.
- Familiarity with Siemens Maxum II analyzers.
- Knowledge of analyzer networks and communications (Ethernet, Modbus, OPC).
- Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Strong understanding of compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, layout drawings, and control strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and make decisions in real time.
- Effective communication across diverse technical and operational teams.
