The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role under the direction of the Maintenance Lead, focusing on troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, and improving process and packaging equipment to enhance production efficiency and uphold high safety and quality standards. This position also aims to improve maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes for better safety, quality, delivery, cost management, and fostering a positive work culture.
Key responsibilities
- Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP, and HACCP requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment
- Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex process and packaging equipment
- Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, often requiring advanced technical expertise
- Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers
- Participate in mandatory training sessions
- Keep the area, tools, and equipment in your care clean and tidy
- Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database, communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees, and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system
About you
- Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience, required
- Food manufacturing experience, preferred
- Vocational school, Industrial maintenance degree, technical college training, or satisfactory completion of a formal apprentice program, preferred
- Ability to read and understand manuals, line diagrams, and schematics, required
- Ability to identify and analyze situations and make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, required
- High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances, required
- High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others with responsibility for flow of electrical power
- Exposed to voltages up to 480
- Good organization, math, written, and oral communication skills, detail-oriented, interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in areas with temperatures of 100°F-120°F
