Position Summary

What you'll do...

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities.

An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Set up and configure various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
  • Run, terminate, and label cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes.
  • Fix any faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Provide training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Generate reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed.
  • Perform system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
  • Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

  • Safely operates large power equipment.
  • Sits for long periods of time.
  • Squats, kneels, or crawls for extended periods of time.
  • Stands for long periods of time.
  • Visually inspects equipment.
  • Visually locates merchandise and other objects.
  • Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or electronic device.
  • Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.
  • Visually verifies and reads information, often in small print.

Travel

  • Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.
  • Works or trains at multiple facilities or distant locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience in role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+).
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
  • NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training.
  • Technical training or certification in low voltage systems.
