PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct routine chemical and physical testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using approved methods.
- Prepare samples and perform analyses using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques.
- Record, review, and report analytical data in systems such as SAP and laboratory logs.
- Verify that results meet internal specifications and escalate out-of-specification findings.
- Support production by completing testing within required turnaround times on a rotating shift schedule (including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed).
- Maintain accurate, complete documentation in accordance with quality standards and regulatory expectations.
- Support troubleshooting of routine testing and process-related issues in collaboration with production and quality teams.
- Operate and monitor laboratory instrumentation, including Gas Chromatographs (GC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), FTNIR analyzers, Titrators, pH meters, viscometers, densitometers, HACH spectrophotometer, and any additional instrumentation used in the quality control labs.
- Perform routine instrument checks, calibrations, and verifications according to established procedures.
Environmental Health & Safety
- Follow all site safety procedures, chemical handling protocols, and PPE requirements.
- Safely handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or non-compliant behaviors.
- Participate in safety initiatives, audits, and incident reporting.
- Maintain awareness of environmental and safety impacts related to laboratory activities.
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
- Collaborate with lab and production personnel to resolve routine testing or process issues.
- Provide input to improve testing efficiency, method reliability, and workflow organization.
- Auxiliary support in implementing updated procedures, methods, and documentation.
- Auxiliary support in investigations by performing testing related to deviations or quality concerns.
Qualifications
- The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of performing standardized laboratory tasks in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.
- The candidate must be able to work independently during assigned shifts while also collaborating effectively with team members.
- Associate degree in Chemistry or related scientific field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of laboratory or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- If there is no formal degree: minimum 8+ years of relevant laboratory experience required.
