Under direct supervision, the Vehicle Test Technician supports engineering efforts by performing routine vehicle maintenance, setting up and executing dynamometer tests, and compiling test documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance to prepare for testing.
- Set up and conduct driving tests on a dynamometer.
- Assemble and submit documentation packets from testing.
- Conduct routine tests and follow standard test modes.
- Use mechanical and fabrication tools appropriately.
- Perform minor/light fabrication and change vehicle part assemblies.
- Learn and consistently apply proper testing procedures.
- Work under direct supervision while managing daily tasks.
Skills
- Automotive Technician experience.
- Mechanical assembly skills.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Vehicle maintenance expertise.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
- Comfort using computers for equipment control and report assembly.
- Ability to consistently execute driving tests.
- Ability to work under direct supervision and follow instructions.
Qualifications
- Vocational certificate or Associate’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
- Experience with dynamometer testing (beneficial but not required).
- Light fabrication skills and mechanical aptitude.
Work Environment
The role involves hands-on tasks requiring the use of mechanical and fabrication tools. The technician will set up and execute tests using a dynamometer, work under direct supervision, and use computers for equipment control and report assembly.
Pay
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
