Technician III, Technician IV, or Senior Technician I
About the Role
Primary responsibilities include maintenance and support for facilities, utility equipment, and nanofabrication processing equipment. This position requires using technical manuals, online resources, and OEM representatives to maintain equipment with minimal downtime. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate nanofabrication tools, including thin film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of cleanroom facilities, such as CDA, N2, air handlers, dirty air scrubbers, and fan filter units.
- Work with minimal supervision after training, supporting technicians, contractors, or OEMs on complex equipment interventions.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and quality control personnel on system improvements.
- Demonstrate continuous personal growth in job knowledge and proficiency with different systems.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude.
- Work effectively with AggieFab full-time staff and undergraduate student workers.
Requirements
- Technician III: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technician IV: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
- Senior Technician I: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Qualifications
- Technician III: Basic hands-on experience with nanofabrication tools and cleanroom facilities. Ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance with minimal supervision after training.
- Technician IV: Moderate experience with the above, plus ability to perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance with no supervision after training.
- Senior Technician I: Advanced experience with the above, plus ability to train and guide junior team members, conduct work with discipline, and make strategic decisions about infrastructure management.
