About the role

Vestas Wind Technology, Inc. is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician III for the Medicine Bow, WY location. This position offers a $2,500 USD / $3,300 CAD sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision.
• Provide mentorship to entry-level technicians.
• Work 250+ feet above the ground or in small spaces to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Work in various weather conditions.
• Work collaboratively with the team.
• Encourage recommendations to improve safety and quality of work.

Requirements

• Basic Safety Training (BST)
• Basic Technical Training (BTT)
• Advanced Rescue Training (ART)
• Global Wind Organization (GWO) certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance or installation.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a drug test.

• Proficient in using tools and equipment related to wind turbine maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay & Career Growth

• The base pay salary range for this position is $27.43 - $33.43/hr.
• Potential for additional variable compensation.
• We are offering a $2,500 USD Sign On Bonus*.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Hearing ability to use telephones, close range radios or related device.
• Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight.
• Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
• Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
