About the role
Support engineers in the design, modification, and improvement of products and processes at our manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. This role ensures the quality and environmentally compliant operation of plant critical utilities and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality and environmentally compliant operation of plant critical utilities, including the Deionized Purified water system, clean compressed air system, boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
- Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment such as air handling units (AHUs), chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, VAV boxes, exhaust systems, and associated controls.
- Utilize the Building Automation System (BAS) to optimize HVAC performance, investigate alarms, analyze temperature and humidity trends, diagnose building comfort issues, and ensure environmental conditions meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Perform HVAC preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including equipment inspections, filter replacement, coil cleaning, belt and bearing maintenance, calibration of sensors and controls, and verification of airflow, pressure, and temperature performance.
- Identify and recommend improvements and preventive actions for all facility assets.
- Inspect, test, maintain, repair, monitor, install, and coordinate installation services on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) equipment and systems.
- Monitor processes, estimate costs, make or verify calculations, and analyze and interpret data and drawings.
- Use the BAS to troubleshoot building faults.
- Test new and modified products, processes, and systems.
- Train and transfer knowledge while providing guidance and support.
- Serve as the point of contact and initial resource for the shift.
- Engage in behaviors that foster continuous improvement.
- Maintain and repair machines and equipment.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (evaluate, modify, originate PMs).
- Complete assigned daily maintenance and facilities upkeep action items.
- Support Facilities Group activities, including shutdowns, capital projects, continuous improvements, PIT, team collaborations, and events.
- Document work accurately per company and regulatory policies (within Maximo, on test scripts/protocols, pass downs, etc.).
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with team members, production personnel, and outside contractors/suppliers.
- Comply with all safety, environmental, and CGMP requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Location: Onsite in Houston, TX.
Schedule
2nd Shift (8 hours): Saturday - Wednesday, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM CST.
