Engineering Technician III - Night Shift
About the role
Medtronic’s Tempe, Arizona location is seeking a night shift Technician III to provide critical customer support on production impacting situations.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products.
- Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products.
- Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format in a manufacturing clean room environment.
- Performs equipment installation and qualification activities.
- Creates, troubleshoots and edits, equipment recipe programs in accordance with documented parameters and settings.
- Performs data collection activities using measurement, test and optical inspection equipment.
- Analyze data from multiple sources to determine the disposition of non-conforming product.
Requirements
- Requires complete and broad knowledge of systems, techniques, tools and procedures typically obtained through prior related work experience, training, and/or education.
- Requires 3+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree (certificate) in Electronic Technology or equivalent (vocational or technical college).
- Proficient computer skills (basic-intermediate use of Microsoft Office applications), as well as experience troubleshooting general computer issues such as file system, shared drive, hard drive, power supply, networking issues, etc.
- Familiarity with circuit board manufacturing.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
- Previous experience and with statistical process control (SPC) charts and data analysis.
- Soldering and microelectronics packaging assembly experience.
- Electronic analysis instrument setup and operating experience.
- Experience using and programming automated measurement systems.
- Experience using and programming automated assembly / manufacturing equipment.
- DRM, Lean, or Six Sigma experience.
- Good documentation practice.
- Teamwork Oriented.
Skills
- Working knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) based micro-electronics packaging manufacturing technologies.
- Ability to apply problem solving skills and pragmatic thinking.
- Pragmatic thinking while working in a high paced team-oriented cleanroom environment.
Benefits
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
