Technician III

About the role

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Technician III to join our dynamic team. This position offers competitive pay dependent on experience, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service on equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing fluids, and lubricating.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform novice level welding repairs using MIG and SMAW techniques.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
• Support team goals and work well in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 to 3+ years’ experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.
• Necessary tools valued at $5,000+ in total.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills.
• Ability to perform basic welding repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Pay

Pay range dependent on experience, starting at $30+ per hour, with a potential quarterly branch performance bonus.

Schedule

Typical schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of overtime.

Location

The role will be based in our shop in Austin, TX, with occasional need to perform maintenance or repair equipment in the field.
