About the Role

Microchip’s Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and RF/microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG encompasses two business units: the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discretes BU. Markets addressed include alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors, and security.

Microchip is seeking a talented, creative, and motivated Manufacturing Equipment Technician. The right candidate will be trained to repair, calibrate, and maintain electro-mechanical equipment used in production, or perform any other duties as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, use, repair, and maintain test or electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and general maintenance on test and electro-mechanical production equipment.
  • Work from schematics, mechanical drawings, or written instructions.
  • Use multimeters, other test equipment, soldering irons, and mechanical tools.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude to make adjustments and repairs on production equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3), due to access to controlled technology, materials, software, or hardware.

Desired Qualifications

  • Trade school or post-high school certificate training in electronics.
  • Experience performing calibration and repairs on production equipment.
  • Ability to interface with parts or service vendors.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $17.00 - $32.69, dependent on job location, skills, and experience. Microchip offers a total compensation package that includes competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments.
