Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Florida team. In this role, you will support a variety of environmental projects by performing advanced technical work, analyzing complex data, reviewing technical reports, and collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced field and laboratory tests on construction materials, structures, and systems
- Perform inspections and assessments of projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests and inspections
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of findings
- Operate and maintain advanced field and laboratory equipment
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans and protocols
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and team members
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the Project Manager/Supervisor
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred
- 2+ years of experience in environmental, geotechnical, or construction-related fieldwork
- Familiarity with field sampling techniques, soil and groundwater testing, and use of field instruments
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting equipment as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols and ability to follow established procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers
- Flexibility to travel to project sites and adapt to changing schedules
Pay
The starting salary for this position is $28.00 per hour, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.
