Technician II

About the role

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Technician II to join our team. We are dedicated to safety and the well-being of our employees. The position is immediately available and offers a competitive pay range of $28 - $34+/hr, dependent upon experience, plus a quarterly branch performance bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor repairs on hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines on construction equipment.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using computer diagnostic software.
• Maintain and repair Tier 4 engines and aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, EGR).
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
• Weld and fabricate parts as necessary.
• Maintain industry and Sunstate safety standards during equipment repairs.
• Be willing and ready to learn new skills and grow within the company.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment experience required.
• Intermediate experience with major and minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines.
• Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred.
• Necessary tools for equipment repairs.
• Intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Diesel laptop and welding experience is preferred.
• Safety-oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards during equipment repairs.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Qualifications

We evaluate each candidate on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with heavy construction equipment or rental equipment experience required. Intermediate experience with major and minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, diesel, and gas engines is necessary. Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, and EGR aftertreatment systems is preferred. Necessary tools for equipment repairs are required, along with an intermediate understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods. Diesel laptop and welding experience is preferred. Safety orientation and willingness to learn are also essential.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28 - $34+/hr, dependent upon experience.

Schedule

The typical schedule is Monday – Friday, 7AM - 5PM, with overtime eligible.
